Sue
Kibbey - Three Of Us

Sue studiedJazz at Guildhall and has taught jazz courses at the Royal Academy
of Music and Wavendon. She started to sing professionally in the 1980s .
She sings with a voice that's mellifluous, muted and melting one moment
- driving growling and raunchy the next. She has been told by a black musician
"you sing good for a white girl" and it is therefore not surprising
to learn that she takes her inspiration from Billie Holiday and Ella's scat
and swing. Sue weaves amusing and poignant anecdotes
between the tunes to make for a great overall experience. She will be performing
at the Oystercatcher Cafe with Graham Dent on piano and Rob Evans on bass.
