Teignmouth Jazz Workshop Band(s)

One of our very important activities is education in the form of tutor led workshop courses. We run two courses on a regular basis and are pleased to have Neil Maya and Tom Unwin as tutors for our "performance" and "introduction" courses respectively.

The students from these workshops will be performing tunes they have been working on this term which includes originals and their own arrangements by the tutors.

The courses are open to all ages and instruments and all levels. We would particularly welcome beginners to jazz drumming and bass as a strong rhythm section is key to assisting improvisation.

The courses are progressive and we expect Students from the "Introduction to Jazz Improvisation", to join the "Performance Skills" wokshop as their confidence and ability improves.

Members from previous performance workshops have gone on to form their own bands and current members make up the Teignmouth Jazz Machine, which has performed for local charities, private parties and fetes to promote our Charity activities.
